Three countries in one day tour (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia)

FROM ONLY100

Pack your passport and expand your horizons on a day trip that visits three countries in one day.

Your tour starts as our guide  picks you up from Trieste pier and takes you to the first destination this morning, the charming fishing port of Muggia in Italy. Our guide will walk you through the old town of Muggia where you can experience charming Venetian atmosphere of the only Istrian town that remained in Italy, after its borders were re-designed after the WW II. Muggia’s main square boosts with Venetian tradition where you can see pretty little harbour with fishing boats, attractive main square with town’s gothic style basilica from 13th century and a mediaval castle overlooking the town . A real gem.

Afterwards you cross the border for the first time heading to Slovenia. A scenic coastal road will take you to Piran in  Slovenia. One of the most photogenic cities in the Mediterranean, Piran has preserved its unsurpassed charm. Our guide will reveal its rich history and culture, you will admire its main square, named after its most famous native of Piran, the composer Giuseppe Tartini, who played an important role in shaping its cultural heritage.  Venetian Gothic and Austrian Neoclassic styles blend together on beautiful elipse shaped square.

Overlooking the square, a 16th century parish church of San George calls for a short walk. You will see three countries from its courtyard: Slovenia, Italy and Croatia. Free time will follow in Piran to explore the place on your own and to enjoy lunch at one of the seafront restaurants. Our guide will give you recommendations on eats and hints about the local cousine.

In the afternoon cross another border and head to Croatia. Finish your day in a hill-top town of  Grožnjan that offers breathtaking views and medieval apperance. Grožnjan is also known as the »town of artists«. Many art galeries  and small shops offer art and culinary specialities of Istria, like truffels, fuži pasta, olive oil and wine. During a short stroll our guide will show you all the highlights of this hidden gem of breathtaking Istrian countryside. Return to Trieste pier a unique experience richer.

He picked us up at our hotel in Trieste and offered all his knowledge of the places visited. We strongly recommend Yerney and the Slovenia 4Seasons Agency to anyone who wishes to go on excursions. 5 STAR RATING

Three countries in one FABULOUS day

Andrej was wonderful, patient, informative, and just an all-around nice guy. This was a tour with my daughters and me, and I truly couldn't have asked for anything better. It is well worth the money and time spent -- it was great to learn the history and actually get to see where it was made. My girls loved beautiful Piran (the pearl of Slovenia) and I enjoyed Grožnjan, Croatia the most. But it was unanimous, we all really like Andrej. Thank you for the wonderful day. I HIGHLY recommend this service.

Just an excellent day out

We rang Slovenia 4 Seasons from Trieste after seeing their brochure; spoke with Andrej and arranged to be picked up at our hotel (Alla Posta) the next morning at 0900 to go on the "3 countries in one day" tour trip. Our guide Jernej was there on time, introduced himself and off we went in their excellent Ford van. The van is a 7-seater with lots of room and very good aircon. We were to visit Groznjan in Croatia, Piran in Slovenia, and Muggia in Italy, all on the Istrian Peninsula. What a beautiful part of the world, and we were treated to be taken through back roads and little villages and some great views of the countryside. You need to bring your passports to visit and go into Croatia from Slovenia, and they get stamped going in and out from both countries! While Croatia is a part of the EU from 2013, the border is not just open, and also Croatia does not use Euros, it has its own currency of Kuna, the exchange rate being about 1:7, Euros to Kuna. Groznjan is a delight of a hilltop village, Piran is a seaside small port and holiday town and Muggia is the small last and most eastern Italian village before the border with Slovenia. Guide Jernej was a non-stop hive of information and local history on all manner of subjects, so we had great knowledge impart and interaction.
I cannot rate our day highly enough, and fully recommend Slovenia 4 Seasons for this tour. They also do a variety of other day tours/trips h sound equally as interesting. Thanks Andrej !

“Personalized and Adaptive tour” We took the."Three Countries in One Day Tour" from Ljubljana. Andrej was our guide. While the tour advertised Muggia rather than Trieste (because most tours are done out of Trieste). I really wanted to see Trieste and was not disappointed by the city or the tour. I would never have found the coffee house on my own. Then lunch in Grozcnan, Croatia. Again the hilltop town, reminiscent of Tuscany, was beautiful. Then Stanjel, Slovenia which most certainly is off the beaten track and worthwhile. Finally Vipava for wine as the place in Stanjel was closed. Andrej was knowledgable and also fluent in English. I would highly recommend him and the company.
