Meet your professional guide for an orientation walk with aperitif and welcome dinner in the afternoon.(D)
DAY 2: LJUBLJANA – LAKE BLED – LAKE BOHINJ – LJUBLJANA
After a lovely and rich breakfast, you´ll visit Ljubljana on walking tour of the Old Town. After time for shopping and lunch, we´ll continue to Lake Bled, just one hour away. Enjoy the ride on pletna boat, as characteristic for Bled, as the gondola is for Venice. After a visit to Lake Bled island, we make our way to Lake Bohinj, the hidden jewel of the Slovenian Alpine region.
In the evening return to Ljubljana. You´re free for dinner tonight. You will adore the city´s lively atmosphere.(B)
DAY 3: LJUBLJANA – POSTOJNA CAVES – PREDJAMA CASTLE – PIRAN – LJUBLJANA
Today you are going to realize how diverse the Slovenian sceneries are. Half an hour from Ljubljana you´ll be in the heart of Karst area to admire its pearl, the famous Postojna Cave with Predjama Castle. After lunch in a local restaurant, we´ll just need another half an hour’s journey to reach the Adriatic coast, to visit Piran, the prettiest of the three Slovenian coastal towns. While the rest of nowadays Slovenia was a part of Austrian Empire for centuries, coastal towns were part of the Venetian Republic. And your guide will make you notice that. You´ll be back to Ljubljana in time to explore the Capital city some more.(B,L)
DAY 4: LJUBLJANA – PTUJ – MARIBOR – LJUBLJANA
Today we go east. Ptuj is another hidden jewel of Slovenia. It is the oldest town in the country, it dates back to Ancient Roman days, now medieval looking. Its imposing castle rising above the Drava river will make the setting for some beautiful photos. Continue to Maribor, one of the strongest industrial centers of ex-Yugoslavia, now turning to a friendly scenic town. While strolling the Old Town, we´ll see over 400 years old grapevine, the oldest in the world. During your journey back to Ljubljana your guide/driver will be happy to answer all your last questions about our country’s past and present. Farawell dinner in a local restaurant. (B,D)
