Day 1
Timisoara Airport – Timisoara

Your 14-day Romania tour begins with a warm welcome at Timisoara Airport. We’ll transfer you to your centrally located 4-star Hotel Atlas (or similar). In the afternoon, meet your professional guide for an orientation walk through Timisoara, a vibrant city celebrated for its Secessionist architecture and rich cultural heritage. Enjoy an aperitif and welcome dinner as you soak in the city’s unique blend of Turkish and Austro-Hungarian influences. Timisoara, designated as a European Capital of Culture in 2019, offers a perfect introduction to Romania’s charm. (D)

Start your day with a guided exploration of Timisoara, known for its stunning architecture and lively cultural scene. After free time for lunch, travel to Corvin Castle, one of Europe’s most impressive Gothic fortresses. Discover the legends and history embedded in its ancient walls. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace. (B)

Timisoara – Alba Iulia – Sibiu – Sighisoara

Depart Timisoara and head to Alba Iulia, a city steeped in Romanian history and the site of the 1918 unification treaty. Stroll through the Old Town before continuing to Sibiu, a charming Transylvanian town with a rich medieval heritage. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Sibiu’s historic center.

Next, visit Biertan, home to a stunning 15th-century fortified church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrive in Sighisoara in the late afternoon for a two-night stay at the Central Park Hotel 4* (or similar). Dinner will be at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Next, visit the Turda Salt Mine, a fascinating underground wonder formed from ancient salt deposits. Arrive in Cluj-Napoca, Romania’s cultural and educational hub, for an overnight stay at the Courtyard by Marriott 5* (or similar). The evening is free. (B)
