SARAJEVO (BiH)
Your adventure kicks off with convenient transfers from Sarajevo airport to your hotel. After settling in, you'll enjoy a late afternoon welcome drink and indulge in a delightful welcome dinner. Your accommodation at Hotel President 4* or a similar for two nights is ideally situated in the town's center, right at the heart of Sarajevo's vibrant bazaar, Baščaršija. Your journey begins with comfort and style. (D)SARAJEVO
Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a junction point of East and West, multi-cultural and multi religious. It’s a colourful town full of coffee houses, restaurants and shops, a gracious and congenial people that defy expectations. Our morning begins with a local guide tour of the city. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to explore Sarajevo on your own. (B)
SARAJEVO - MOSTAR - DUBROVNIK (Cro)
After breakfast departure for Mostar. Mostar is the main city of the southern part of Bosnia-Herzegovina, situated on the banks of the Neretva river. Under the Ottoman Empire, Mostar became an important trading hub, where Jews, Christians and Muslims traded and lived side by side. The result was that Mostar became a melting pot of cultures and nationalities. The centrepiece of Mostar is the Old Bridge, commissioned by the Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent in the 16th century. Destroyed during the war in 1993 the bridge was rebuilt using the original materials and reopened in 2004. After lunch transfer to the city of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic Sea. Our Hotel Lapad 4* or similar is positioned in a picturesque Lapad bay. Evening at your leisure. (B)
DUBROVNIK
We start the morning with a panoramic stop. Originally called Ragusa, Dubrovnik was founded in the 7th century on the southern part of what is now the Old Town by Greco-Roman refugees from Epidaurum (modern day Cavtat). Initially subject to Byzantium, the city was long under Venetian control, and then effectively became an independent city-state under the kingdom of Hungary and later the Ottoman Empire. It was one of the most powerful economic centres in the Adriatic. Dubrovnik’s magnificent walls had been constructed from 12th to the 17th century. Our morning begins with a walk along these walls, followed by local guide tour of the city. Afternoon and evening on your own. (B)
DUBROVNIK - BOKA KOTOR BAY - LOVČEN - KOLAŠIN (MN)
Morning departure for Montenegro. Montenegro is the smallest ex-Yugoslavian Republic that is rich with history and wild natural beauty. We will visit the bay of Kotor which is an UNESCO heritage site and is the biggest fjord in the Southern Mediterranean. We will enjoy spectacular mountains rising directly from the sea to reach the town of Kotor which is rich in its maritime heritage. Kotor was passed hand to hand among different armies and conquerors, walled by the Venetians and fashioned by fortifications which were added by the Austrians, etc. Moving forward we will take the scenic road to Lovčen Natural Park and stop for lunch. After lunch we will proceed through the mighty canyon of Morača River and arrive to Kolašin Natural Park where we will stay for two nights. Dinner is included. We will stay in the 4* Hotel Bianca or similar in Kolašin. (B, D)
KOLAŠIN
We will start the full day excursion to the heart of Montenegro’s mountains to reach the canyon of river Tara, second only to the Grand Canyon in the USA. We will enjoy the famous view on the bridge over the river and have the opportunity to try out one of the most spectacular zip lines in Europe. Next, we will continue towards Durmitor Mountain and visit the famous Black Lake by the town of Žabjak, where we will have an included lunch. Return to the hotel in evening hours. Leisure time in Kolašin. (B, L)
KOLAŠIN - SHODRA - TIRANA (AL)
We will depart Kolašin and pass by the capital of Podgorica to reach the lake of Skadar, the biggest lake in the Balkans. From there, we will cross the border to Albania which is a mysterious country that was hermetically closed from the rest of the world under the regime of the communist dictator Enver Hoxa until the late 80’s. Albania is rich in spectacular landscapes and full of ancient history that was dominated by Illyrian tribes then incorporated into the Roman Empire to be overtaken by the Ottomans, etc. We will stop in the ancient city of Skhodra for lunch and then proceed with a very picturesque drive to the capital of Tirana, where we will stay for one night in Tirana International Hotel, 4*or similar. Dinner is included in a local restaurant. (B, D)TIRANA - ELBASAN MOUNTAINS – OHRID (MK)
Your exploration of Tirana begins from the heart of the city, as you embark on a walking tour led by a local guide. The tour encompasses the historical center, including the renowned Skenderbeu Square. You'll then proceed to Mother Theresa Square, passing by notable landmarks such as the Parliament and the Presidential Residency of Albania.
Following this, you'll have some free time to savor lunch before embarking on the next leg of your journey. As you depart, you'll drive through picturesque countryside offering magnificent mountain vistas, a testament to why Albania is called the "Land of the Eagles."
Your route will take you to the city of Elbasan, known for its medieval castle. From there, you'll continue your drive toward the border of the Republic of Macedonia. As you cross the border, you'll be treated to the breathtaking views of one of the Balkans' gems: the marvelous Lake Ohrid. Your final destination for the day is the charming town of Ohrid, where you'll be accommodated for two nights at the waterfront Hotel Royal View 4* or a similar option.
In the evening, relish a delectable dinner at a local restaurant, savoring traditional Macedonian dishes. Your journey unfolds with comfort and rich cultural experiences. (B, D)
OHRID (MK)
After breakfast we meet our local expert guide in Ohrid and visit the Roman Amphitheater built for the gladiator fights and visit some of the 365 churches of Ohrid. Ohrid was the place where the disciples of the Saints Cyril and Methodius founded the first Slavic university in the world. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to explore on your own. (B)OHRID - BITOLA - HERACLEA - METEORA (GR)
We'll begin our day with an early departure from Ohrid, embarking on a picturesque drive to the historic town of Bitola. Here, we'll make a brief stop to explore the town's rich heritage. Just outside Bitola, we'll find one of Northern Macedonia's most important archaeological sites: the ancient town of Heraklea Lyncestis, founded by Philip the Macedon in the 4th century B.C. The site's layers reveal centuries of influence from various civilizations, including Greek, Roman, and Byzantine.
Continuing our journey, we'll cross the border and arrive in the scenic town of Meteora. Our accommodation for the night will be at Hotel Dellas Boutique 4* or a similar establishment. In the afternoon, we'll have the opportunity to visit one of the most famous "hanging" monasteries perched atop the sandstone cliffs above Meteora. This unique location is renowned for its appearance in a James Bond movie. We'll wrap up the day with dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
METEORA – DELPHI - ATHENS (GR)
Today, your journey leads you to the ancient and mystical city of Delphi. It was once considered the center of the world and is famed for its Temple of Apollo, which housed the legendary Oracle. This Oracle played a crucial role in determining the destinies of ancient kings and their realms. As you explore the archaeological site and the museum, you'll benefit from the insights of an experienced local expert.
Following your time in Delphi, you'll continue your drive, heading across the Peloponnese peninsula. Your final destination is the historic city of Athens, which you'll reach in the late afternoon. Upon arrival, you'll check in to the Hotel Elia Ermoue 5* or a similar option for your two-night stay. Your evening in Athens is free, allowing you to explore the city or unwind as you please. This day encapsulates both ancient wonder and modern comfort on your Balkan Delight tour. (B)
ATHENS (GR)
Following breakfast, your day begins with a meeting with a knowledgeable local guide for an exploration of ancient Athens. Your tour will take you to the renowned Acropolis, where you'll encounter the iconic Parthenon and savor breathtaking views of the city below. The Acropolis is not only a symbol of Athens but also the cradle of democracy, making it a site of historical significance.
As you descend from the Acropolis, you'll find yourself in the charming old town of Athens, known as Plaka. This lively neighborhood boasts winding streets teeming with restaurants and shops, creating an inviting atmosphere. You'll have the opportunity to soak in the surroundings, do some shopping, and indulge in delicious Greek cuisine offered by the numerous street-side eateries.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you please, whether you opt for further exploration or relaxation.
To conclude your Balkan Delight tour, you'll relish a farewell dinner in a local restaurant. This memorable journey through the Balkans culminates in the vibrant city of Athens, combining ancient wonders with contemporary delights. (B,D)

Balkan delight 6 countries – 13 days - October 2019
Dear Andrej, Katie and I returned home late last night after relatively uneventful flights from Athens to Istanbul, Istanbul to San Francisco and San Francisco home. We Had an absolutely fabulous time on our Balkan Delights trip. It was everything that I expected and more. Although there was a lot of time riding in the van I felt there was a good balance between the days with lots of activity and sightseeing from the van. Four passengers was definitely the right number for optimum comfort, I would not have liked six. Our hotels were mostly good to great with Athens definitely the best. Blaž was an exceptionally good driver, very knowledgeable about everywhere we visited and it was fun having Mandy along too. Your selection of local guides was exceptional and added greatly to our understanding and enjoyment. It was good seeing you again and meeting your wife and son and our last dinner and evening together was very special. I hope to see you again on a future trip. Thank you for all that you did for us.

Croatia delight tour – 13 days - September 2021
Great 2 week private tour We had a great 2 week private tour that went from Slovenia to Greece. We had specific requirements for dates and and one person had to leave the tour earlier than everyone else so Andrej tailored parts of 2 itineraries to work for us. This required a lot of back-and-forth and he was always very responsive. Add this to the fact that he had to keep up with the Covid policies of 6 countries and make sure we could get our covid tests before coming back home. He did a great job and all went smoothly. Our tour manager Blaz drove the van, filled us in on the background of all the countries in colloquial English, told entertaining stories, made sure we always had a decent bathroom when we needed one and took us to several places not on the itinerary that we would never have found ourselves. He was totally on top of every detail and we always felt totally secure, even in countries where we might have otherwise been uneasy. Our tour included about half our meals and the food was really good for all of them. In one very remote place where the plan had been to eat in the hotel for 2 nights due to lack of other options, the food had gone down hill since the last time they were there. When we mentioned that we were less than happy with the meal, Blaz managed to find us another place for the 2nd night that totally met our expectations. All our hotels were extremely well-located. We could just walk right out the door and be in the heart of the nicest part of town. They were all 4-star, as promised, though it turns out that different countries have their own rating system and there were some that would not have been 4 stars by American standards. Still, even the ones that were not quite as polished were clean and otherwise perfectly adequate. All in all, it was a fabulous trip and I would highly recommend Solvenia 4 Seasons to anyone.

Alps and Adriatic odyssey – 12 days - May 2023
Hi Andrej I would like to express my appreciation for the way we were looked after on our trip. Stefan was fantastic and no praise is great enough for him. Although it was unfortunate that we were on our own, it did mean we could deviate from the original tour program in Sarajevo and Dubrovnik and see things we did not see on our first trip. I must add that the walking and climbing of steps did take its toll on our legs, we survived, but I don't think we could keep up with a younger bunch. Once again, thank you for a fantastic trip. Best wishes!

Slovenia tour – 8 days - May 2023
Trip of Lifetime - Slovenia, Croatia, Italy I highly recommend Slovenia 4 Seasons who planned and carried out a wonderful trip for two couples, traveling in Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy. Andrej, the owner, was always easy to contact and extremely responsive from initial inquiry to finalizing all the details. Andrej had many good suggestions set forth in his different package tours, yet was flexible to accommodate our travel interests. It is truly a customized, personalized travel experience. And, S4S goes to many other countries as well. We traveled in a very comfortable van with our own tour guide, Blaz, during the first 10 days of our trip. Blaz was very personable, knowledgable about all the sites we visited, and always concerned for our wishes and well-being. In each city we visited, Andrej and Blaz arranged for local guides to show us the highlights so that we saw things we surely would have missed otherwise. Each local guide provided an unbelievable amount of information about the people, customs, and history of each town. The hotels along the way were all well situated, well equipped, and with friendly staff. Most of the hotels were luxurious. Our trip typically included breakfast every morning at the hotels and we had several dinners along the way with Blaz. We started in Ljubljana, Slovenia and traveled over the space of ten days all the way to Dubrovnik at the southern end of Croatia. Each day was well planned to include a walking tour and plenty of time to be on your own. After Slovenia and Croatia, we went to Trieste, Italy where we again stayed in a wonderful hotel and enjoyed the local sites. Andrej then took us over to Venice, Italy for a fabulous day trip. We then ended our trip with a few days in Munich, staying at Louis Hotel. We found the city and the hotel to be absolutely fantastic. Andrej arranged our transfers to and from airports, which were all done as professionally as the entire trip. There are too many good things to say about Andrej and Balz along with the amazing places we saw and friendly people we met along the way to put everything into one review. For any who have concerns, English was spoken by nearly everybody we encountered, you felt quite safe everywhere and at all times of the day and night, and you were treated as a welcome guest everywhere. For a trip of a lifetime, you should book with them, right away.

Croatia tour island hopping – 11 days - September 2023
The best possible tour of the Balkans We have travelled a lot but the 15 day tour of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro that Andrej organised for us was exceptional. Everything from choice of hotels, driver/guide, everything seen, food and wines, local guides and total ambience of the trip was more than anybody could ever expect. We began the trip with minimal knowledge of the countries we visited but, by the end of the comprehensive input from all the guides, we are leaving with some considerable knowledge of this complicated and exciting region. Slovenia4Seasons should be the first choice of anybody intending to visit the Balkans and beyond.
